What a month!
Here in Viral Loops, we’re superbly excited because we have something special coming up soon; but I can’t tell you what it is yet.
I think we’re working harder than ever.
Apart from that “something special,” we made some additions feature-wise for certain templates and pricing plans during May.
Let’s see what’s new for Viral Loops users from April 2021 and on.
That’s right; milestone notifications just arrived on the Newsletter Referral template too! Using them can help you notify your subscribers (and campaign participants) when they have referred enough people to be eligible for a reward.
The milestone emails can be edited and customized just like every other email on Viral Loops. And if you don’t need them (why, though?), you can keep them disabled.
Two new features have now been made available on the Growing plan:
These were previously available on the Power plan and above but no more!
With the Conversion Tracking on the Milestone Referral, you can use the Viral Loops API to track referrals for conversions (e.g., purchases) vs. referred sign-ups.
You can find out more about this feature in our documentation: Can I reward purchases with the Milestone template?
With the Hubspot integration, you can connect your campaign to your Hubspot account so that any new subscribers in Viral Loops are sent to Hubspot automatically and vice versa.
You can find out more here: Hubspot integration.
We fixed a bug with the Email Widget for Hubspot where the contact custom properties on the widget had a wrong format and were not being replaced properly in the newsletter.
If you are using Hubspot and this issue affected you, let us know how the fix is working for you!
We also fixed a bug that prevented editing the email sharing option in the Newsletter Referral template.
We retired the Online to Offline template to simplify our product and focus on our core use cases; This means that you won’t be able to create new campaigns with this template.
If, however, you already have a campaign, it is not going to be affected.
The campaign will continue working as it should, including its Campaign Wizard, Dashboard, and integrations. Nothing is affected in existing campaigns.
Farewell OtO.
For new campaigns, we also removed the Rewarding Widget of the Refer a Friend template. This was a floating widget (like the one from Intercom) which mostly confused our users vs. helping them.
We removed it from new campaigns to simplify the core experience, but no existing campaigns are affected.
That’s all from us for this month’s issue. We will see you soon, though; we have some exciting stuff coming up. Stay tuned! 📻
